Activated charcoal is a natural compound that has been used for a long time to fight against digestive disorders, poisoning, or to purify the skin. The use of charcoal has recently gained momentum, following the activated charcoal masks that have made the rounds on social networks. Nevertheless, its use is not limited to that.

Here are our top 5 tips that will allow you to use charcoal in your daily life, in several ways.

1- Detoxifying

Activated charcoal contains a huge amount of carbon, and although this compound is toxic for the body, its passage from the state of pure charcoal, to the state of vegetable charcoal i contributes greatly to its absorbent power. So, to use it as a detoxifier, get some activated charcoal, and put 1 to 2 spoons in a glass of water, which you drink, in the morning on an empty stomach, and then 2 times during the day at mealtime. This is a good dose, but it should not be done without the advice of a doctor or a certified health worker.

2- Digestive calming

Whenever you have digestive problems, use activated charcoal as a calming or deconstipating agent. It may help you have faster bowel movements, or less trouble in the long run. Take 1 teaspoon in a glass of water, in the morning on an empty stomach or as soon as you feel the need before a meal.

3- Purifying mask for the skin

The current trend in the use of activated charcoal, masks allow you to make your skin healthier, and to fight acne if it is too advanced. Of course, it will have to be on medical prescription if this is the case, but if you don’t really suffer from any skin problem, and you just want to make your skin more beautiful and pure, you can use it in a proper way.

To do this, mix 1 teaspoon of activated charcoal with 1 tablespoon of green clay, and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Apply your homogeneous paste during 10 to 15 minutes maximum on your face, then rinse with simple water.

Activated charcoal can be accompanied by other skin-enriching elements when you make your mask, the trick is not to make a toxic mixture.

4- Fight against bad smells

If you have bad odors in your toilets, refrigerators, garbage cans or even under your armpits, take a quantity proportional to the targeted surface and put it on the surface. This will allow you, thanks to the absorbent properties of activated carbon, to eliminate the odors, or at least reduce them until you find a more adequate solution.

5- White teeth

Last but not least, take a toothbrush, wet it slightly and dip it in the activated carbon powder. Brush your teeth. Do this twice a week and the result will be clean and clear, your teeth will be white after a few weeks of use. You can add lemon or mint, if you don’t like the taste and want to stop there. However, you can always continue brushing with your usual toothpaste.

Activated charcoal not only captures bad odors for a fresher breath, but also thanks to its whitening action, allows you to have healthy and whiter teeth than before.
