Are you a skilled and passionate writer with a knack for sports reporting?
Deadspin is seeking an Editor in Chief to lead our team of talented writers and editors in producing top-quality sports content.

As the Editor in Chief of Deadspin, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our publication, from assigning and editing stories to managing the editorial calendar and working with the business team to ensure the site's success.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sports journalism, a strong editorial vision, and a commitment to upholding Deadspin's reputation for honest, insightful reporting. You will also have experience managing a team, cultivating a positive work environment, and building relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • -Develop and execute editorial vision for Deadspin
  • -Manage a team of writers and editors, including assigning and editing stories
  • -Develop and manage editorial calendar
  • -Work with business team to drive revenue and grow audience
  • -Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • -Represent Deadspin at events and in the media
Requirements:
  • -At least 7 years of experience in sports journalism
  • -At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role
  • -Strong editorial vision and the ability to execute it
  • -Excellent writing and editing skills
  • -Deep understanding of sports journalism and the media landscape
  • -Strong leadership and management skills
  • -Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
