She-Hulk as Super Lawyer

The new cult marvel hero series is coming to the big screen soon. Created by Jessica Gao following a request from the Disney+ streaming channel, She-Hulk: Lawyer is a mini-series, which features characters from “new” Marvel characters.

Played by Tatiana Maslany, the series introduces us to Miss Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk (in reference to the Hulk actor of the Marvel animated series), cousin of Bruce Banner whose blood and at the same time her powers she had received, following a shooting.

Also added to the cast are actors such as Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jameela Jamil, invited to the set in December 2021.

The series was announced in August 2019, but filming did not begin until mid-April 2021 at studios in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Georgia. It will be available from August 17, 2022 and will have 09 episodes, which will announce phase IV of the MCU (Marvel Cinematographic Universe).

It is a comedy series, mixing action and fiction with superheroes. Made in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this program shares a certain continuity with the films in the franchise.  The character created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, has been making noise since the 1980s when the release of the film was planned for a long time.

Filming of the series, which should normally have started on July 6, 2020, was finally postponed to April 10, 2021 in Los Angeles and Trilith Studios in Atlanta, due to the Covid pandemic.  In November 2019, Kevin Feige announced that after the character of She-Hulk is featured in the series, she will be integrated into the marvel movies.

3-A new version of the Marvels movies?

In July 1989, the studio had thought of having She-Hulk appear in a TV movie called The Death of the Incredible Hulk. Indeed, in order not for the actor to disappear from the Marvel universe, an alternative has been found. Unfortunately, the character did not appear, and the television series that had proposed to highlight She-Hulk, was canceled much later.

In 1991, the character’s development resulted in a film at the New World Pictures studio, with Larry Cohen as director and actress Brigitte Nielsen as She-Hulk. Although the latter participated in a signing photo shoot, the film was also not materialized on the big screen. We can say that it is a real shame.

In August 2019, Marvel Studios announced at one of their D23 conferences, that they would still realize this project of development of the She-Hulk series. Fans will have had to wait 3 years later, to be able to see a rendering of the series long waited for more than 30 years.

And in addition, the Streaming Service Disney+ would be exclusively the distributor of the series on its platform.

According to chief writer Kevin Feige, the series would be a kind of “half-hour legal comedy,” which would be true to John Byrne’s perspective as She-Hulk in Marvel Comics.
