1-Ivory Coast not ready enough for the CAN
After the qualifiers the CAN 2023 should start on June 23, 2023. For this thirty-fourth (34) edition of the CAN, CAF and all the teams, as always, will have surprises in store for us. After the elimination phase which will bring together forty-eight (48) teams, only twenty-four (24) will be retained for the rest of the CAN. The list of the draw was published on April 20, 2022 and its forty-eight (48) teams have been divided into 12 groups so four (4) per pools that will compete for only two (2) places for the CAN. As the host country, Côte d’Ivoire is exempt from matches already has its place for the CAN which brings Group H back to three for a single place, it is: Zambia, Comoros and Lesotho who will have to settle for one on the spot after the elimination sentence. According to the Ivorian government the land is seventy (70%) completed and we will retain six (6) plots in five (5) different cities and according to what the Ivorian government has published this project has had a blow of almost five hundred (500) billion. And regarding the purpose of the work there are concerns.
“At a glance, it’s not moving fast enough. I think the time limit is too short. I don’t think they will finish on time,” predicts Idrissa, a football fan who closely follows the news of the CAN.
