How should we manage our stress?

To manage it, we must:

  • ┬áCreate a balance between work and leisure: sometimes we tend to immerse ourselves in our work forgetting to recreate ourselves. This means that when we are overloaded we automatically become stressed.
  • ┬áTake time to laugh: Laughter is very therapeutic. Being angry or upset all the time makes us stressed. Even in a difficult situation, take the time to laugh to control ourselves.
  • ┬áLearn to deputize, we don’t have to do everything ourselves because when we can’t take it anymore we get stressed.
  • ┬áUse relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation to de-stress
  • ┬áDo a lot of physical exercises: sport allows proper circulation of blood in the body and is very beneficial for mental health

We distinguish two kinds of stress: chronic stress and acute stress.

Chronic stress results from continuous and repeated exposure to situations that cause the release of stress hormones. Its effects are severe on physical and mental health. Exhaustion in the morning upon waking, lack of energy, unexplained anger, incessant migraines, muscle tension, perpetual forgetfulness, this is chronic stress.

Acute stress is an intense and unpleasant reaction that occurs shortly after a traumatic, unusual, specific, and destabilizing event. Digestive disorders, lack of concentration, agitation, and sadness are its signs.

We also have four other types of stress: physical, mental, behavioral, and emotional.
